COVID-19: Venue Guide for playing safe

6th juli 2020SHUFL Community

As the hospitality industry begins to open up across the world, we are on hand to support our partners with a venue guide to ensure that you can continue to operate your SHUFL tables whilst keeping your staff and players safe.

Thankfully size is on our side; with our shuffleboards ranging from 2.8m to 6.7m long, SHUFL is a game that can be played whilst conforming with the new social distancing regulations.

We have produced a Player Guide Poster for you to utilise in your venue that can be downloaded and printed. We also wanted to share some tips and ‘watch outs’ so that you can safely provide SHUFL as part of your offer.

We know people are looking to socialise and have some fun after a long time away from their favourite pub or bar – these measures will help give your customers the confidence to play.

We have outlined 3 potential areas of ‘risk’ with some steps to mitigate them:

Multiple players touching the pucks.

  • Pucks returned and disinfected between player groups.
  • Get teams to pick a colour when giving out the pucks and instruct them to use the same colour throughout.
  • If more than 2 players, instruct players they must stay in the same team and continue to re-use their own pucks every game.
  • Availability of hand sanitiser near tables.

Social distancing.

  • There is plenty of space to socially distance around our tables. Encourage players to maintain their distance and make use of our player guide around the tables to remind them to do so.

Players touching the cradle of the shuffleboard tables as they play.

  • Wipe around the cradle between each player group with some disinfectant spray.
