From Berlin to Hamburg, Munich to Hanover, and, now Dusseldorf, we’ve roundedup the hottest venues for our ultimate guide to where to play shuffleboard in Germany.

For those who like to Stay and Play…

Meandall Hotel in Hansaallee, Dusseldorf is a fun, funky place to pitstop if you’re stopping over. Book one of 249 rooms with ornate bathrooms and intelligent room design with a range of business rooms, superior rooms and superior studios, depending on your budget.  It’s all been thoughtfully designed to facilitate creative thinking, featuring a colourful, comfortable lounge.

Conveniently located, the hotel is within easy reach of pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and public transport, so everything is on your doorstep, if you can manage to tear yourself away from the 18ft Grand Champion shuffleboard table!

What’s more, the hotel is Greensign Level 4 accredited, which means that it runs on 100% green electricity and every aspect of the hotel is managed sustainably, so that’s one less thing to worry about.

For the Beer Lovers…

Speciality beer and shuffleboard are a winning combination at GiG Linden in Hanover.  Home to a 22ft Grand Champion SHUFL. table, the bar is located on Linden’s market square and offers a comfy, cosy interior with sofas and candlelight, as well as an outdoor terrace that is great for catching some rays on sunny days.  They serve up a vast array of specialty craft beers with 16 taps pouring regional, national and international beer styles, plus more than 50 varieties of bottled beers.  We guarantee that any beer lover will discover something new to sip, while sliding a few pucks.

And if that wasn’t enough, over in Hamburg, you’ll find more shuffleboard, a further 34 beer taps and around 100 bottled beers in sister bar Craft Bier Bar.  Located near the Schanzenviertel, once you have your beer in hand, head down into the basement and challenge your mates to a shuffleboard showdown on one of three championship grade SHUFL. tables.

For the Sausage Dog Lovers….

Known for its quirky illustrations of Dachshund’s, customers describe Munich bar Schwarzer Dackel (Black Dachshund) as ‘unpretentious and comfortable’.  A bar in the Westend of Munich, it has a big craft beer, wine and cocktail offer and hosts a variety of live music and entertainment.

Playful branding in the form of hand-drawn illustrations of its namesake, the iconic German sausage dog, helps the bar to stand-out and engage with its community in a city that is spoilt for choice when it comes to bars.  It’s also one of the only venues in Munich with a shuffleboard: its 14 ft Gentry SHUFL. table dials up the fun factor.

For the ‘Let’s make a Day of it-ers’…

The European home of BrewDog, DogTap Berlin promised more bark and more bite when it opened in 2019.   Based outside of central Berlin, it’s a monster destination venue housing a brewery, 2,500m2 tap room and epic 4,000m2 beer garden, offering a variety of experience under one roof. Visitors can make a day of it by learning more about beer at the beer school, enjoying a gig, letting some pucks fly on the Olympic sized shuffleboards, playing mini-golf or even getting to work in the desk dog area.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, choose from monster burgers or smaller bites.  Lovers of all things plant-based will be spoilt for choice as half of the menu is vegan or vegetarian and all of their headliner beer range is vegan.

It’s the ultimate beer haven fit for the capital city of a country with a big beer culture, plus all of the spaces are available to hire for special events.
